I just had a thought: You know how all the Asgardians got put into human bodies after Ragnarok?

Well what if Hildy ended up in the body of one Molly Hayes. That's why she didn't show up as a mutant when she was tested by her parents; she's not as mutant, she's a semi dormant Asgardian!

Better idea for a what-if I had last night:

Okay, after the whole time travel adventure, the Runaways are heading back to California, when leapfrog suffers a fatal malfunction and crashes... right in Asgard.

So the entire Runaways gang ends up being adopted by Volstagg and becoming honorary Asgardians (with the added benefit of being granted Amnesty by Balder/Thor, meaning SHIELD can't come after them anymore.

Best part would be when those Majesderians show up to try and capture Karolina, only to have Thor and company show them the door.

Other good moment, Karolina and Kelda hanging out, Chase and Bill hanging out, Molly and Hildy hanging out, Nico being trained in Asgardian sorcery, Xavin becoming a Valkyrie, and so much more.

I'd buy it but then it makes the very sad thought that Hildy's dead from staying in Molly for too long since Thor didn't recover her from her host and I don't think Molly would do well as a character or be as interesting if she were suddenly part Asgardian or somesuch if they did a fusion. Or if she were to be depowered by having her taken out.

As far as I know, there's been no sign of Volstagg's family during the new series, except that he referenced his wife after getting plastered when Thor got banished.

So my guess is they're off panel.

It's been noted that a few times Volstagg has taken in the orphans of Asgardians and mortals who's parents have died during the conflicts of the gods, so we may not see all of the kids return.

Given the family she's in, it's no wonder that Hildy can kick ass. The only girl in a family that size, and with Volstagg for a father? She'd BETTER damn well know how to fight, either that or drown in all the manly.
And while it's kinda nice that Volstagg is so obviously and unambiguously in love with a woman even bigger and fatter than he is - no slave to traditional standards of beauty is he! - I can't help but think of what might have been. I think I'm correct in assuming that this was the first - and possibly the last - appearance of Gudrun in the comic, but I'm pretty certain that there had been occasional references to her beforehand, usually giving the impression that he trembled at her anger, as she basically out-Volstagged Volstagg, which she certainly does here. It would have been a funny gag if she'd turned out to be a rather petite, attractive woman, a good three feet or so shorter than her husband, who STILL out-Volstagged Volstagg. It'd have been something like the time during the Byrne FF run when we finally got to meet Benjamin J. Grimm's dear old Aunt Petunia - who's an attractive woman in her mid-thirties.

look behind Volstagg and his wife. The line seems to go boy escorting a girl at least three rows back.

It might just be Hildy is the only girl in the family who'd object to wearing a dress.

Hrrm. Or it could be that with all those children - I mean, holy crap, is Volstagg not the most prolific of fathers, or what? - the various age groups tend to hang out together. All of Hildy's brothers in that scene where she's beating them up seem to be roughly her age, so it may be that they're the only ones who bother teasing her about it, since they hang out with her all the time and know what a tomboy she is.

While I don't mean to refute the observation that Volstagg must get crazy laid, it's also been established that he adopts Asgardian and mortal children who have been orphaned by Asgardian battles.

WHERE IS HILDY NOW? SHE'S GORGEOUS, KICK ASS AND GENERALLY AWESOME.
Bring her around. Make her a mainstream character. Perhaps keep playing her crush on Hogun even as a teenager or adult :D
