My guess would be the two female characters on the leftare Mockingbird (a power-up from Odin would take her off the horribly wounded list, and from an editorial standpoint, Marvel has been trying to add some gravitas to her character, or find some way to make her in any way interesting for over 20 years), and the Black Widow (Brubaker has found the diamond at the core of her character, and after all she's been through with Bucky, she really needs to go get some PAYBACK!).

It seems Dr. Strange's staff is a Caduceus, a symbol of Hermes that has come to signify the medical profession. A Caduceus, interestingly enough, also has alchemy symbolism, and the "crucified serpent" symbolism runs throughout Judeo-Christian culture, all the way back to, yes, ancient serpent cults. Somebody's been doing their homework....

Oddly enough the Caduceus has nothing to do with healing at all in greek myth, it's a confusing with the similar looking staff of Aescelapius.

I'd just like to assure you: it is, in fact, possible to have an event without Wolverine. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that some people might even prefer it.

Personally, if the line up is as some here had speculated (Ms. Marvel, Iron Fist, Strange, Logan, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Spider-Woman), then I can honestly say I really don't give a damn about any of those people. *shrug* Guess I'll stick with JiM and Thor.

Let's see... the reddish one in the middle is definitely Iron Man. The one immediately to the left (from our point of view) is presumably Dr. Strange (wizard staff with cadeceus? can't be anyone else, IMHO). Right of Iron Man and down is Wolverine, I think. All the way to the left is Ms. Marvel, by the symbol. The one with the bow would be Hawkeye. Not sure who bottom left is (Daredevil? damned if I know), or the woman with the large sword in the back (She-Hulk?). The woman between Wolverine and Hawkeye is maybe Spiderwoman, maybe Kitty Pride? Someone who wears a full bodysuit, based on the lines. Back right... Spiderman? Deadpool? And where the heck is Captain America? Iron Man is in it, and it's an Avengers thing, so therefore I expect Steve.
