So here we are with the penultimate arc to Brubaker's run, notable for introducing the character of Lady Bullseye.

First up however is Brubaker's DD annual, which reintroduces the character of Black Tarantula (who briefly appeared in his first arc) and sets up his new status quo for the future. Again, you know the's double-sized, so 13 pages. Artist is Leandro Fernandez.

So Carlos Lamuerta, the Black Tarantula, is out on parole. His parole officer is crooked and demands a grand from him a month for his cooperation.

Carlos has been set up to live in his old town, a place that he once ran. There he runs into an old "friend".

Carlos decides Murdock's way isn't working, so he looks for information his way.

Later, Carlos helps Matt out with some thugs, and Matt enlists his help in costume.

Daredevil later finds out who may have been responsible for a murder he was tracking.

The Black Tarantula tracks down 'Little Loco', who confesses to the murder and offers his old friend a deal.

Daredevil later arrives to find everyone dead. Carlos says he did what Matt couldn't do.

So this is the big introduction of Lady Bullseye, a character who Marvel really hyped was like its own event with variant covers and even a little 'recap' book of Brubaker's run so far to get people ready for her arrival. Personally, I don't see what's so special about her.

Anyway, we get a flashback of her origin and why she's styling herself after Bullseye.

Lady Bullseye later goes out for a kill.

Matt's been helping Dakota train (with the help of Iron Fist) and something happens.

The two targets are none other than Iron Fist and Black Tarantula...

Dakota North wakes up to find the newspaper and realizes Matt has been framed for murder.

We later flashback to the events of 'Secret Invasion' and how Elektra was outed as being a Skrull. This of course impacts the Hand and causes it to fracture.

Matt's called in for questioning, but he's released when Dakota delivers an alibi for him.

Danny Rand is later attacked by members of the Hand, but Lady Bullseye interrupts the test from afar by killing the ninjas. Hiro asks why she did it, and she says its better if he doesn't know what he is facing.

Later, Matt and Dakota argue about the previous last night, with Matt saying he had committed a serious grievance against Milla. On the way back to Matt's apartment, they see the lock is forced.

Am I the only one annoyed by Izo's puns and quips?
Later, Lady Bullseye tracks down and faces Daredevil.

Master Izo arrives and helps Matt, but Lady Bullseye manages to escape. Thinking that Milla is in danger, Matt goes to see her, only to discover that her parents have taken her.

Carlos and Master Izo manage to find one of the Hand's hideouts, and discover the photographs of their targets. One of them is none other than Angela Del Toro, the new White Tiger.

Black Tarantula later comes upon the White Tiger fighting off some members of the Hand, and comes to offer his assistance.

Daedevil's senses tell him that Lady Bullseye was the woman who was with Milla's parents. He's furious, but Lady Bullseye says that he's misread the Hand's intentions, and that they're not targeting his loved ones or Matt for death.

Daredevil is knocked out. Also, Master Izo has, during the melee, sliced off Lord Hiroshi's hand:

Matt's not sure what to think, because part of him was relieved that about being freed from his problems.

Meanwhile, Lady Bullseye has left for Spain...for Plan B.

Ugh, Lady Bullseye's design. I've always wanted Hawkeye to shoot an arrow right in Lester's forehead, and I want the same for her body markings. It's almost an interesting idea with the concentric circles, but then I think, "wait, they are literally painting targets on their bodies. That's stupid."

And I find Master Izo pretty damn amusing, though his being so old helps. I'm a sucker for the Old Master trope, and one day hope to embody it myself.

Given how skilled she and Bullseye are meant to be, it'd be interesting if it were presented as them taunting people into trying to hit them in those spots when they know most people will have no chance.

Even if the design is relatively 'stupid' as you say, I like the aesthetic aspect--you have to admit, it's gorgeous, plus practical in terms of material (no flappy extra whatever).

The targets... as mrstatham said, just a taunt?
