Since All-New X_Factor was launched last year, it's the corporate uniform for Serval Industries who bought the name from Jamie Madrox and founded the new team. Alas, though it features Pietro, Gambit, Polaris, danger, and my faves Doug and Warlock, it's a PAD title so can't be posted on S_D.

It's been rather fun, though for Cypher fans it's been rather frustrating, since he was introduced to the team, but hasn't been given much to do in 20 issues worth of story.

I haven't been putting much stock into the whole "Wanda and Pietro will stop being mutants because of movies" conspiracy theories. But it's sure looking that way.

It's just such a shame though. The twins have been Magneto's kids since before I was even born, they've been his kids in the 90s X-men cartoon, X-men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-men. To change it now because of the movies just seems mean spirited

If and when they go through with it, watch their lawyers use it as an excuse to bar Fox from using Wanda and Pietro in their X-Men movies. Not sure whether that would actually work or not, but I can see them at least trying it.

Actually, that brings up an interesting question: is is possible for someone to be both an Inhuman and a mutant? As far as I know, there's nothing that makes the two incompatible with one another, though I could be wrong.

There was discussion about that with Luna, since she is the child of a mutant and an Inhuman. Reed Richards tested her genes and discovered her mutant and Inhuman potentials had cancelled each other out and she was actuallu baseline human, so the Inhumans denied her Terrigenesis.

Quicksilver exposed her to the Mists anyway, and she is now an empath.

The Beyonder was actually once retconned to be an inhuman/mutant mix, back in the original Illuminati book. It was a very dumb retcon, and we should all endeavor to ignore it.

You know, all I can hear for most of Wanda's dialogue is 'daddy issues daddy issues daddy issues daddy issues'.

Also, Wanda dear, before you celebrate the fact that you aren't related to Magneto because he didn't die when you struck down Pietro's family, stop and think for a minute: you're still alive too. So either your spell didn't work, or you aren't related to Pietro either, in which case you could still be Magneto's daughter.

This ruins everything. (And considering Lizzie Olsen read all those comics to get Wanda's backstory and everything....only for this to happen)

This gives some credence to the rumor that if any new mutant characters are created, Fox Studios has the rights to them instead of Marvel.

I doubt it, not only is Quicksilver set to be alive and rocking another goofy costume for a relaunched Uncanny Avengers, but Scarlet Witch is set to be on the team as well, so I can't see that arrangement working if she's killed his kid.

More to the point, Marvel's not dumb enough to get the character all set for post Avengers 2 synergy only to then have her a kill a kid.

Though based on her spell it should have killed Luna, and not to mention her own psuedo kids if Tommy and Billy really count as her kids.

I'm not sure about Tommy, but Billy's stuck in a prison in the microverse along with all sorts of other super heroes.

I think they've established that they're not biologically her kids since at least Billy's parents actually had him in the traditional sense. Though with Wanda's powers, who the hell knows.

I really. Really. REALLY get annoyed at decisions made just based on the damn movies and tv shows. Sure, not all are bad, like the inclusion of an original character that we love, but this.... jeebus I thought One More Day was fuckin stupid but this goes right up with it. Shame because I was enjoying this series but this is one of those dark marks against it.

I really, really want to like Wanda again, but this is idiotic. Are we supposed to take a self-hating minority (who killed members of said minority), with major daddy issues (nevermind that dad didn't raise her and never even met her 'till she was a teenager), who flies off the handle and over-reacts (to Rogue, to Doom, RIGHT HERE) and tries to kill her own family 'cause they "betrayed" her...and somehow think "hero"?! There are supervillains who aren't as bad!

Damn it. Send her off to limbo until someone comes along who can write her properly.


And OK: it's been a while since I've read those issues but WHY does Wanda have such daddy issues? He saved them from a mob, took them into the Brotherhood, ignored Toad harassing Wanda(which is vile, make no mistake), didn't treat them all that well, they left for the Avengers, probably clashed over the years, then the they're-his-kids retcon...why is she so angry?

Wanda is inverted so her overreaction here to her family's "betrayal" isn't really her fault. At least no more than the X-men following Apocalypse, taking over New York City and creating a bomb that will kill all non-mutants.
Or Captain America imprisoning all of the reserve Avengers in a microverse prison in case they tried to rise up against him.
Or Iron Man distributing Extremis to everyone in San Francisco as a mobile app for a free 24 hour trial, and then jacking up the price to $99/day

But that aside: Wanda's attitude to Magneto isn't new- it's much more extreme, but not new. So again, why does she hate him so much? I have an avengers comic from right after Mags took over Genosha- Wanda says to Pietro that Eric's not her father- her father is Django Maximoff. I can perfectly understand this attitude. Where did all the rage some from? Eric being her biological parent doesn't invalidate Django raising her, and she didn't use to be so angry.

Isn't this like the fourth big reveal/retcon Wanda's gotten about her parentage? First she found out the Whizzer had abandoned her and Pietro when Miss America died in childbirth, then she found out the Franks weren't really their parents and some woman named Magda coincidentally died giving birth that same night (or not-so-coincidentally since this was all happening the night of Chthon's rising), then she found out Magneto was their biological father, now this.

Girlfriend should quit the superhero business and audition for Days of Our Lives.

Well, if you ignore the big events, a lot of their other stuff isn't in any asses. Adjectiveless X-Men, Miss Marvel, Captain Marvel, Loki, Legendary Star-Lord, Cyclops, and a few others from Marvel have been pretty good, while DC has Grayson, Batman Eternal, and a few more too.

There's also Magneto and Capt. America & the Mighty Avengers, but they're currently tied with this event, and Hawkeye and Uncanny X-Men that I'm enjoying but have been getting a mixed response online, from Marvel, and Green Arrow from DC that I'm not entirely sure on what to think yet on since the new creative team took over.
And those are just the books I can afford to keep reading. Either way though, if you don't accentuate the negative, the positive can be pretty good still.

I'm sick of Magneto's status as sperm donor being overplayed in stuff like House of M (up through the 90s, Wanda and Pietro generally DGAF about Magneto being their bio father -- they cared more that he was a supervillain who had treated them like crap). So I'm actually open to the idea of his bio connection being retconned. I mean, I'd rather it not have to be, and Marvel just stop writing Pietro and Wanda like they actually felt a strong familial connection to Magneto, but I'll take what I can get.

They should remain Roma though, because if that's retconned away, a can of fanwank will open as to whether they are *really* Roma or not despite the fact that they were raised that way.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much

They were never that close to Magneto(Though Wanda has made attempts), he didn't raise them and he only met them for the first time when they joined his brotherhood. It was the Maximoffs who acted like real parents to Wanda and Pietro and that never changes no matter who their biological father was.

Still, this must be a double edge sword for Pietro. He really never got along with Magneto, so he might be happy at the news, but on the other hand this means he can longer blame Magneto for his problems.
