If you don't have privilege, you likely would have "entitlement", so maybe it works out.

Oh, "entitlement" is often used as a counterpart to "privilege." ("The world owes me," that sort of thing.) I don't know if the numbers are equal or not, and of course most people don't see themselves as having either privilege or entitlement problems.

And I really should have specified that was a generic "you," not you as an individual. As in, "You work and save and what happens? The company closes." I wasn't addressing that to you specifically. (Maybe English could use a word for the generic "you"?)

That'll come in handy. On another forum, I get a lot of grief whenever I call out something I find antisemitic, and that grief usually takes the from of something mentioned on that page. From now on, I'll just post the link and tell them to cut and paste their responses.

Not saying there isn't a lot of truth to the use of stuff like that, but the overarching message that often seems to come across to me from sites like that is that it's impossible to disagree with someone in actual good faith in these situations.

I want to ask a serious question here. How in the hell do you guys function on the internet? I'm basically a sociopath and even I can occasionally have my feelings hurt - this kind of stuff extends out to the degree that basically we can never say anything for fear someone somewhere might be offended.

I'm kind of at a loss for why anyone thinks this is workable in reality.
