I understand that Fairchild here is meant to be an actual child. What I don't understand is why she also looks like a little person, rather than y'know, a child.
It's two of the greatest challenges most comic book artists have: Being able to draw human female anatomy realistically, and being able to draw children.
So mixing them is what is known scientifically as the "double whammy".
All of these Wildstorm characters seem like poor imitations or are outright unrecognizable. Fairchild and Majestic as children, Deathblow in Spartan's body - these are outright new characters.
Except Ladytron, who's still the same crazy horny punk cyborg as when Alan Moore first created her. Bless you, Maxine, don't ever change.
