2000ad presents: Mega-City MAX
Aug. 6th, 2023 10:03 pmSo, unlike Marvel, HBO, etc., 2000ad is using the MAX label to designate a title specifically for younger readers, moving on from their regular 'Regened' issues of the main title to this year's summer special!
"Welcome to the launch of a new comic, Mega-City Max, and while all these stories are set in the dystopian world of Mega-City One, home of Judge Dredd, the stories in this comic feature teen- and post-teen versions of 2000ad characters who are determined to get by, stand out, and be true to themselves in a future-shocked landscape that is not too dissimilar from our own once you get past the sci-fi tropes and gadgets" - the sales pitch on the inside-front cover
So yes, while the title does contain stories featuring a young DeMarco PI starting out, and a re-imagined cast of Harlem Heroes, for some reason good ol' Walter the Wobot gets a story too, despite, y'know, not being a teen in any way...

Story, art and letters by Roger Langridge, colours by Pippa Bowland
Oh, we get four pages for an issue, so here's some young Devlin Waugh as well:
