This struck me as weird because I always figured the Kree were, relatively, newcomers on the intergalactic block, and wouldn't have had the chance to muck with the genomes of other space-faring races the way they did with humanity.
Indeed. The whole origin story of the Kree was the Skrulls had been space-facing long before them, and the Dire Wraiths were an off-shoot of them. And backstory for the Badoon is that as a species they'd been around even longer than the Skrulls, they just weren't terribly big on going anywhere. The Kymellians and the Centaurians maybe. But even then it's a stretch.
The idea is alright, but the execution raises questions.
