I have only seen the first episode so far. I...okay, I've watched the anime up til about ep 970-something and have decided to wait for the dub to catch up.

I like the anime, but it's not a huge passionate fan-like, so I'm not as attached as die hard fans. (Conversely, it this were a live action Gaory Tail I would be going frame by frame)

It's a lot. It's very obvious the creatives involved here are big fans of the original series, and this was made with a lot of love. I think the casting is spot on, and I remember hearing Echiiro (sp?) Oda was present for parts of the production and approves of it.
