I’m just waiting for another one of the X-Men's human allies to be revealed as a bigot. Will it be Stevie Hunter, fed up of all the interruptions to her dance class or that one time Kitty did a racism right to her face? Or will it be Charlotte Jones, who was a cop so we automatically know she was a terrible human being?

Given Moira's research background, why did she turn robot? Whipping up one super plague should be child's play.

She turned into a robot because Mystique and Destiny were on her heels. No time for lab work when you're about to be killed.

Why she didn't do it before? Destiny had made it pretty clear what would happen during one of her previous lives if she tried. Of course Destiny was dead and on the no fly list for resurrection for most of Krakoan era, so... Maybe she was afraid Destiny had left some kind of journal(s) detailing what Moira would do and when?

Moira's had like a million years to do it AFTER, though. I mean hell, she would know the X-Men better than any villain, but all she does is twirl her mustache.

God, I hate the tribalism of the retcon so damn much...

Why would she have needed to? Orchis already had the best plan -- sending a bunch of Sentinels to attack Krakoa. Because, as history shows, that has always worked.

I don't belive there's a single Moira apperance before the Krakoa era that actually fits with Moira in the Krakoa era.

Also, I really liked Douglok. He was much better than modern Doug.

Well Moiras first appearance had her display a broad skillset that people remarked on, where did you learn that. And she was the only "human" infected with the legacy virus. So there is some support for the mutant power. Legion seems to have had some idea, his Moria created and destroyed universes.

But the flip to mutant hater? Nope that is never going to work.

Could we maybe be seeing reprogramming that came as part and parcel of her being converted to a machine intelligence? I would expect a lot of room for viewpoints and motivations being switched around in that process.

Depends on which Moira. Paul O’Brien went through every Moira appearance and concluded that the retcon that she'd been secretly trying to steer mutant history from the sidelines worked pretty well - that she tends to step into a leadership role when Xavier is gone, for example.

Pure evil traitor Moira works less well.

I do think it's a shame that this Douglock has been forgotten as his being own person, who was erased when Warlock's personality was restored.

I do think it would be fun to see Doug and Warlock realise this and restore the guy into being again.

I would've gone with Jean's parents, resurrected as cyborgs and blaming Jean and the X-Men for the Shi'ar murdering them, rather than the bird jerks.
(During the Claremont stuff, Jean's dad just seemed super-judgy and grouchy anyway. Obviously becoming an evil murder cyborg wouldn't be a dramatic leap.)


Either that or Opal, but not because of anything to do with Bobby, but because of that dinner with Bobby's racist dad.

Well, Jean Grey's sister was already part of the Phalanx so it's not a large leap.

(I doubt most people even remember Jean had a sister.)
