That second panel looks like Cable is trying to do a ‘Blue Steel’.

Cannonball is not only nigh-invulnerable while blastin’, he is practicing to become silent while blastin’ as well.

I haven’t tagged Domino in this post, for reasons that will become obvious at a later date.

Interesting how they clearly hadn't come up with Deadpool's healing factor then as another issue has him saying he needed his jaw wired shut after this.

Cable, Deadpool, and Domino in their earliest forms. The Liefeld trifecta. All three a far cry from what they’ll eventually become, lacking most of their more interesting elements apart from visuals.

(And yeah, I know the truth about Domino here, but it’s still her in some fashion…)

I know a lot of people tend to say that this Deadpool is nothing like the character we later got, but to me, he still feel like Deadpool here. He's still cracking jokes and he won't shut up.

Liefeld may not be the best comedy writer out there, but I feel the intention still shines through.

He's a lot more of a prep time guy than the goofball we get in later iterations, though. I guess that's part of being a villain heel!
