Time to return to the DC Universe, home of such farflung sci-fi concepts as time travel, alien life, and air travel that isn't entirely safe.

You can tell it's fiction because the government is taking immediate action to rectify the issue.
Unexpectedly, Sylvester Pembleton--with a name like that, you know he's from the Golden Age--shows up. To quote the parlance, bro thinks he's on the team.

"And he's not Captain Atom. I can't stress enough that he is not Captain Atom."
The team makes their way to Blackhawk Island to take it to someHYDRA Cobra Kobra mooks.

Reactions like this are probably why he starts putting a big T on all his balls.
Infiltrating the compound, Sand goes to rescue the captive Airwave, but things hit a snag.

Conspiracy theorists must be a bitch to deal with in the DC Universe.
"I saw Sand shot in the head on national television!"
"No, that was just a hologram."
"So... JFK..."
"That was real."
"...was it?"

Well, glad to see someone talked Al down. Hate to see a good kid like that become some sort of murderous vigilante.

Oh, so that's why we never see Blackhawk Island when Zinda joins the Birds of Prey. Shame. Those gals would've enjoyed having their own island. Where did they have headquarters pre-Nu52? Gotham? California? They could've been on the beach!
Now, I haven't been leaving out the other team's adventures--they've been off-panel all this time. Until...

Hey, bud, this is the DCU. Twelve seconds is a pretty long time for them to go without a reboot any day of the week. You just gotta get comfortable with it.
