Possibly, but Karla is an exceptionally talented and skilled manipulator of people. She'd have made sure she knew what all her team-mates abilities were before she ever allowed herself to be in the same room as them, and being the control freak that she is, would take steps to make sure she NEVER lost control because of him (be it nose filters or whatever)
