The credits are all over the place for this issue. I don’t know how much Claremont had written when Ms. Marvel was cancelled. Any way, Simon Furman was brought in to finish the script. Michael Gustovich finished the art.
Meanwhile, Mystique muses about the decision to beat Carol’s creep of a boyfriend to death. Destiny foresaw Rogue coming to harm at the hands of Ms. Marvel. Inevitably, trying to avert the prophecy will lead to it coming true any way.

Mystique, watching Rogue trying to kill Carol.
"Why didn't I listen to Irene when she tried to warn me? ... ... no, it's annoying, and I'm right not to."

(though this one isn't matching up with Avengers Annual #10, which says Rogue just knocked Carol out. Mystique was the one who threw Carol off the bridge, after making sure there was no ID on her.)
