Okay, having spent the last year showing what a monstrous scraplet he is, time for the comic to try and give Starscream a sympathetic backstory...












Yeeah, I'm not sure that Starscream really "needs" an origin story for his name.

Yeeah, I'm not sure that Starscream really "needs" an origin story for his name.

Perhaps, perhaps not, but I like that they canonized "Ulchtar" being his original name before it was changed to Starscream, just as in real life.

Megatron's alt mode being a mix of gun and tank is gloriously dumb.

I think Starscream is too abstract a name to lend itself to a good origin story. (or at least the kind were they decided to tearfully rename themself after a dead friends last words)

I love how gloriously all over the place Transformer names can be. Hound, Jazz, Bumblebee... Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream... Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Elita-One... some are almost superhero/villain names, others just random words, others have deeper meaning.

And then you get over to Japan, where absolutely zero (0) craps are given.
So you get names like Night, Leaf, Spark... D-Go, Joe... Alan.

What even is an "alan"?
