Damn it all if that ain't awesome. I guess "Jean Paul Valley Lives!" get to come true after all, kinda. And now we officially know that Jean Paul did indeed die at the end of his series.

With any luck he can kill the new Azrael.

Oh and I loved this Scarecrow bit. It does make sense for his emotions to just be utterly burnt out after years of using the Fear Toxin.

Well there's no reason whatsoever that it could be AND not be Jean Paul. We could still say Jean Paul either survived or ascended to heaven and the ring simply found a sample of his blood or something somewhere and regenerated a body from it if you really want to go that route.

Yeah, beat me to posting this. I feel bad for JPV that all his costumes were so awful that they had to revert him to the original so it wouldn't be so bad. And that he's gotta be for-sure dead now (though i'm a little surprised they didn't confirm it back in 04 when they tried to tear down everything else Denny'd contributed).

Hardly. It was the time they looked around and felt safe that Denny wasn't coming back, so they tried to completely reboot not one, but two series he put a lot of work into out of existence. Luckily for Richard Dragon and Vic Sage, 52 came along and outright ignored those series.

You know, I COULD be wrong, but I'm almost certain that Azrael was wearing a different sort of costume than that at the time of his death - this looks more like his original costume. I seem to recall him without a hood, and with a different sort of mask. So this MIGHT be someone else - was there an Azrael doppelganger anywhere, perchance?

Unlikely, the BL choose outfits that are meaningful to the people they are connected too, not what they were like at the time of death.

You feel sorry for the poor citizens in Gotham getting stabbed in the heart, but (a) I'm still positive this whole event will end with mass resurrections, which will include all the random civilians who got in the way, and (b) at this point, if you still live in Gotham, you've really only got yourself to blame.
