Storm is back from her voyage of self-discovery and duels Cyclops for leadership of the X-Men.

It is decided the duel will take place in the Danger Room.

The New Mutant were scheduled to have a training session, but the duel had priority apparently.

Let’s hope this means Scott will get to live happily ever after with his wife and son and editorial won’t do anything to muck it up.

Shaken by Madelyne's superpowers, shaken by her " .. are you afraid.. they can get along without you? " - mechanics aside, that seems like the same thing either way.

Pretty much. Maddy "messing" with Scott's self-confidence is bad, even if she isn't using psychic powers she doesn't know she has. IIRC, the retcon was explained in an X-FACTOR issue during Inferno, not UNCANNY X-MEN.

The rain starting was something that happened a few times during the "Storm has lost her powers" period. (Not really an era.) Claremont hints maybe Storm just doesn't have conscious control over the weather anymore.

(Just saying. This does not seem like the most practical decision. Maybe just have Kitty flip a coin?

Also, Scott thinking Magneto might've killed Charles.
C'mon, Scott. You've lived under his roof long enough to know it's more likely Charles just faked his own death.

Always like it when none powered people take down more powerful foes. Alltough its usually justified with some "they are holding back" bullshit ^°
