This is why METAMORPHO is the comic I take the greatest joy in the act of writing - my love for this particular tone and style is the root of my sense of humour, but it's also an honest and deeply held appreciation and I wish people understood that more. It's not a satire on old comics! I honestly think more comics should have thought balloons and chatty omniscient narrators, and one of my most sincere ambitions in the artform is to write the word "yvoorg" into a comic and have someone publish it! Vandal knowing Java is one of those ideas so perfect and obvious I can’t believe no one’s ever thought of it before. Leave it to Ewing!

Elemental Girl’s “who wouldn’t want to live forever” line is a deeply and darkly hilarious twist, considering her best known story.
