Dang, those cheekbones could cut glass.

This will be the last the X-Men see of Rachel for a while. She gets taken away by Mojo and the X-Men pretty much forget she exists.

Yeah, Rachel was supposed to spin off out of the X-Men into her own miniseries (Guest starring Power Pack and Franklin Richards, with Spiral as the big bad) before moving on to help found Excalibur the following year, it was even announced in Marvel Age, but it was shelved apparently because it was a bit of a continuity mishmash.

Kind of surprising that given Marvel's trend over the last few years of having writers come back in to do fill-in-the-blanks stories that no-one's suggested dusting off the idea.

Well, there’s still that missing time before she resurfaces in Excalibur and Claremont’s doing a Kitty Pryde & Wolverine sequel so you may get your wish sooner or later.

Claremont believes in the policy of shill early, shill always.
So if Selene says Tessa is smart, she must be cool and interesting!
(okay, she is kind of rocking the mushroom do... but that's about it.)

Nimrod is also there in its little known other function as the fashion police, with the Inner Circle sentenced to death for looking even more ridiculous than usual.

I loved that when Selene was smack-talking Mother Righteous in a recent X-Men miniseries, she said she'd been playing the game longer in considerably tighter outfits.

Here it is, the very first issue of Uncanny X-Men I ever read. And I saw Rachel Summers and went "that one, that's my favourite" and never looked back.
