Somebody asked where Wolverine was in a previous post. He is still in the Morlock Tunnels, itching for a rematch with the Marauders.

HIS hotsy-totsy healing factor? What, does Sabretooth not have one yet? And while it may not save him from having his heart torn out now, wait a few decades.

Yeah Sabretooth didn't really heal fast until he became a regular Wolverine enemy.

Before this, there was an instance where he badly hurt himself trying to rip Spider-man's webbing off his face and another where he got clawed up really bad and had his butt kicked by Black Cat.

Yep. He first appeared in Iron Fist #14. Wolverine appears in the next issue and Danny Rand thinks to himself that Logan reminds him of Sabretooth and wonders if there's a connection.

Then Wolverine and Sabretooth don't actually meet until 9 years later.

Yep. If I recall correctly, he fights Iron Fist while Danny is dealing with snow blindness.

Weird to see Betsy when she's not focused in totality with the Summers' genes.

She failed to bag Scott, so she had to settle for his daughter.

Brutal honesty: Kind of prefer Betty pre-ninjafication.
Just the contrast between the former super-model actually being one of the X-Men's more vicious members, rather than the badass ninja.
(That and the baggage of Kwannon and running around in her body.)


So, the X-Men had that containment pod thing ready to go, huh?
"Well, we kind of figured with Kitty's phasing powers she'd wind up being stuck in an intangible state sooner or later. Though Kurt's going to be upset, since he bet either Logan or the Professor would be responsible."

Nothing for her to do but go over her Star Wars fanfic in her mind.
(Times like these, best not to think how she's breathing. Or not starving.)

Is it headcanon? Doesn't an issue of The Brood Saga have her reading one of the Marvel Star Wars comics? And something about a Darth Vader cosplay at one point?

Vocoders were available even on Earth-1218, and would’ve been simplicity itself for Comic-Book Science.

(Kitty wouldn’t yet have had the opportunity to encounter Transformers on either a Watsonian or Doylist level, and thus be inspired to rig up a Frank Welker impression—something, by the way, that the 1984 G1 Transformers Electronic Voice Changer did not even remotely deliver, and no, I am never going to let that drop.)

I suppose the breathing in this state is no more nonsensical than the fact that she was able to breathe in open air when phasing normally, despite solid objects, lasers, and such (but not electricity!) passing through her as if she had no substance at all.

But this is more implausible! ... somehow!

(maybe because keeping Kitty in a phased state for a prolonged period rather than a few seconds draws more attention to it?)

Sometimes she has been unable to breathe while phasing, actually. Sometimes she can inhale sneezing powder during it. I guess the consistency of how her powers work can phase too.
