I like this Cerise more than the one after the retcon. Pretty sure most do.

After Alan Davis left, it was revealed that Cerise is Shi'ar, and thus her entire personality of the naive outsider confused by concepts like kissing and children was a lie the whole time.

BRIAN: What superpowers do you have?

KYLUN: I... well -- enough of this.

BRIAN: No really, we know to know what each other is capable of in order to work together. Like me, I'm incredibly strong, invulnerable, and can fly. Rachel here is a cosmic-level telepath and telekinetic. Meggan is a shapeshifter who can basically control nature itself, so honestly we're not sure what she can't do. Now you go.

KYLUN: ...sndmimiky.

BRIAN: Sorry, didn't catch that?

KYLUN: ...sound mimicry. I can imitate sounds. But like, really well.

BRIAN: ...huh. Well, I'm sure that has uses. Like, you could throw your voice to distract an enemy.

KYLUN: No, I can't throw my voice. It has to come from me. But I can do, like a monster roaring, or police sirens, or things like that.

BRIAN: Okay, wow, that might be the stupidest-

KURT: Brian, stop talking now.

Kurt: I'd say stop talking five minutes ago, but we're still a couple of decades away from fielding enough time travelers.

RACHEL: Actually, I have time powers in addition to my incredibly powerful and versatile telepathy and telekinesis. I know it's easy to forget because I have so many powers, but I do.

KURT: Mein gott, Rachel, can you use your telepathy to read the room?

I wonder whether Cerise constantly restating her power set is a dig, affectionate or otherwise, at Claremont.

Given Davis has worked with Claremont quite a bit, and still does, thinking if it is a dig, it's a friendly one.
