Batman goes super. Also, crazy. Batman goes super and crazy. Problems Ensue.
From Superman/Batman #55, December 2008. Written by Michael Green and Mike Johnson, Art by Rags Morales and John Dell. I posted it on the old s_d, but only the "Pick on someone your own size" page.
I quite liked this but I thought that Dick might have had the smarts to tip his sticks with kryptonite, just in case.
IIRC Alfred notes that when Bruce comes back to his senses, he's going to feel REALLY awful about the fact he broke Dick's jaw, a few ribs and basically kicked the shit out of him. I assume he did.
Well, this is true, but he seems to do much more of a number on his son than his girlfriend. Neither are something he'll be chuckling over at the next JLA meeting, that's for sure.
Well, it's Superman/Batman. Not officially an Elseworld, but I kind of read it like some story that's outside of what's currently going on in Gotham or something. I read several stories that way, and this is one of them.
I felt so bad for Dick and Selina in this story! Bruce has got to stop going crazy every time he gets super powers.
He does beat up Dick longer. It may or may not have something to do with the fact that Selina is quickly knocked unconscious after being slammed into a wall. I would have very much freaked out if he'd kept on beating her up.
And that's not counting the things that Babs could do. All of Bruce Wayne's credit cards being cancelled simultaneously. His name appearing on any number of... dubious registers. His facebook page hacked....
Well, considering I don't get superpowers from being out in the sun, I'm thinking there's not enough energy hitting earth from the sun to, say, throw a dump truck around.
Since it's all fiction, the rules are made-up... the plan was as good as any.

Date: 2009-11-03 12:34 am (UTC)Kryptonite sticks would have been really cool, too, even though the story couldn't have Batman taken down yet.

Date: 2009-11-03 12:36 am (UTC)Presumably, Bruce felt really, really bad and made it up to Dick and Selina. Not appearing in this story arc.

On the other hand, they also have him saying that he still wants the power, so.
