I think considering it's happening in a humour title like Gwenpool and not in the flagship Spider-Man book probably indicates there'll be some kind of silly twist that shows it's not her. Alternate-universe, brainwashed clone, magic spell, what have you.

If Gwen's got a list for that, pretty sure there's a Jackal and a Goblin that deserve to be higher up on it than Peter.

I'm wondering if this series is going to make the point that a petty, vindictive Gwen who blames Peter and/or Spider-Man for everything is very, VERY true to certain parts of her original Stan Lee stories, but since her death most everyone (creators, readers, and characters) has remembered her as more of a patient, innocent saint.

Gwenpool is talking nonsense. If the original Gwen Stacy can come back from the dead, it's fair game for everyone. She'll be back in no time.

I think the logic she is working from is that because her whole existence is basically "easily mistaken for Gwen Stacy mixed with Deadpool" that the existence of another "Gwen Stacy mixed with Deadpool" provides a roadblock to her coming back.

No, she's just hamming it up in an effort to make her death an iconic one. Better to go out this way than just cease publication without fanfare! Little does she know the plans of editorial.

The only way in which it makes sense for Gwen Stacy to be resurrected as a Weapon X project is if EVERYONE remotely associated with Spider-Man or Peter Parker is involved.

Like say, if they got their hands on the Jackal's work from Clone Conspiracy and thought it was worth incorporating into a new run on the Weapon Plus Project. They have no idea why this project has such random people but...
