The X-Men sacrifice their lives to defeat the Adversary.

Of course the Adversary wants to tie up Storm.

The answer is to yeet Longshot.

The Adversary might have been defeated this time, but lives must be sacrificed to seal him away.

Next: All-Star Squadron #3.

Or, if you like, the mid-2020s remake version which is actually pretty interesting in most areas.
But since the Adversary's a bad guy, he's probably going with the former.
As Sir Pterry once put it, that's the problem with saving the world from certain doom. Since the doom was prevented this raises the question of just how certain it actually was, and therefore how much praise is due.
Knowing the X-Men's luck, they'll probably get scolded for being improperly dressed.
... wait a whoa:
A reality warping villain with no motivation beyond evil who is weak against metal?
It's Proteus II: The Quickening.

Roma: Not you.
Doug Ramsey: Not fair! I saved your Captain Britain and Psylocke from Mojo a while back, you owe me!
Roma: This thing is called "Fall of the Mutants" kid, one of you MUST actually "Fall" and this time it's you. Look, it might seem like a bum deal, but I've seen the 90's and, honestly, I'm doing you a favour.
