Why in the hell would they pick the guy demanding POWER over someone with experience like Hal? Guy sounds like an even less subtle version of Sinestro...and his name was SINESTRO.

Guy Gardner, somehow setting such a low bar as to make his later appearances look like Reed Richards in comparison.

Tom Kalmaku, living the American dream in a way that felt a lot less mythological when this was published.

Green Lantern, a series about a galaxy-spanning police force, finally showing interest in something unrelated to Hal Jordan's current emotional state. The Crisis is half over but better late than never.
