I understand now why Ewing's fancasting for Guy is Don S Davis: he's following a similar pattern to Major Briggs in Twin Peaks, adding interesting slices of philosophy here and there.

I can respect Al Ewing with trying to do something very different with the Green Lantern lore.

Ewing is great at the surprise but well layered swerve, so would not surprise me.

He is fond of the big reveal page. And the deep cut.
Which in a setting where continuity is fresh and new and also set to "blend" is a serious combination.

(/ is still holding hope for splash page reveal of a giant sparkly space dinosaur.
Because in a universe twisted to Darkseid's entire mentality, the embodiment of love being a giant dinosaur monster called "The Predator" probably would still make sense.)
