KInda was more interested in this one rather than another Batman Deadpool encounter. (Though I did enjoy the Deathstroke gags.)
I would have liked to have seen it get more room to flesh things out. (Like actually getting to see some dialogue between Mephisto and Neron.) But overall it was quite satisfyingly authentic to both characters IMHO, with Strange seeing through John's tricks and getting a handle on him fairly quickly.
Neron and Mephisto probably offered each other a deal, immediately figured out the way the other would screw them over and it turned to blows.
Love the icon picture there, but it's a shame some might think that's John Walker. Sucks that John basically switched costumes with Steve instead of making his own.
Yeah, that's probably exactly how it went down between Mephisto & Neron. Two double crossers ain't gonna get along for long.
And thanks. Feel the same way about the outfit. I remember it amusing me greatly that the alternate Cap USAgent skin in the old Xbox Ultimate Alliance game still used the Steve Roger's voice actor. So it was very easy to imagine you wre playing as 'The Captain.'
Stephen really got John's number in the first panel of the last scan.
Yeah, John's the bastards' bastard, but if he didn't care he'd just hie to some pub where he didn't already have a tab (hard, but not totally impossible) and drink himself to death.
I love that it distinguishes him from the likes of Dr. Fate or other badass mages in the DC universe. Strange is used to people trying to use guile against him. Hell, he's done it himself multiple times, and he's had his own Bastard moments.
John got overconfident, and didn't realize he was trying to trick a guy who matched wits with Loki.
Neron vs Mephisto...an interesting match up, though it depends where they are. If this is Mephisto's realm, Neron is well and truly cooked. Ghost Rider vs Swamp Thing though? Don't really see the connection. Neron and Mephisto are deal making demons with a penchant for soul snatching. Them stepping on each other's toes makes sense. What, was Johnny's bike burning too many tulips?
