Btw. The Swamp Thing here is Levi Kamei. He is a young avatar of the Green, and the newest Swamp Thing. The tag is wrong. But just wanted to put a swamp thing character in it. :)

' This.. titanic form. ' is impressive, but if anything in that list of weapons is going to do anything lasting to an avatar of the Green, it's probably the " shadow magic ".

(That this fight ends with " You displayed sufficient character, so I'm just going to stand here and let you finish me off. " makes mechanical sense.)

It's interesting how we've seen different motivations for how the fights have gone so far.
Some are genuinely fight to win at all costs, like Superman vs Captain Atom, Wonder Woman vs Lobo, Aquaman vs Hawkman.

But Harley goaded Zatanna into stepping up her game out of a pragmatism, realizing she herself couldn't go very far in the tournament. And now Swamp Thing yields to Cyborg after recognizing Vic has a certain depth of character that might allow him to go further.

I feel like the rules of the tournament are pretty flexible from one fight to the next, at least in the sweet sixteen round, especially with the ability to access multiversal variants of oneself to tap into untold power...

The whole thing comes off as having a grade schooler's logic of "I use my nuclear reality altering beams!" "I counter with my you can't do that ray!" which somehow feels appropriate for the utter gonzo nature of the contest. Very "turn off your brain."

Of course it's grade school logic. The whole series has to be like Secret Wars 1, a way to sell toys.

Is there a toy line for this yet?

Given all the heroes are members of the League in some fashion, you’d think they’d have pre-coordinated some form of “here’s the people were trying to get across the finish line, so if you’re up against x, let them win.”

The villains make things more complicated, of course.

Though i think they’ve paid some lip service to the Heart being able to tell if they weren’t actually committed to the fight.

And a couple of seconds later Swampy reforms. I guess tko counts as well as pure knockout.

Or Swampy chooses to just sit inside the Green for a while, without forming a body.
