Why is Valeria calling Franklin "little brother", isn't he the older of the two?

Kinda debatable. Valeria was conceived first, even if Franklin has lived longer.

Actually, my mistake. It was the other way around. Val got rescued from dying at childbirth by Franklin who sent her to live in the future, where she got older than Franklin, until she got regressed and put back in utero and born again.

So, depending on how you count she's both the older and younger sibling.

I feel like this is a bit...mundane? If Valeria is this amazing super genius who impresses even Doom and her own father, her big idea should be something that feels exotic or unusual or just plain weird to us. Something imaginative that makes us go "what the hell is she thinking?" and lays the groundwork for some future storyline. Not the first thing Tony Stark would come up with.

(Which reminds me: when did Franklin turn into an annoying dope? Or is this a new thing?)

Both Doom and her father are geniuses who also have screw-ups to their credit - maybe this is just laying the groundwork for her own.

Franklin's going through Puberty plus a period of normalcy with no powers* so he's entering his annoying teenage years.

*Self induced cause he realized he is not ready to have his virtually unlimited powers so he locks them away along with the knowledge that he did it except for one day a year where he fixes as many future threats as he can find of before shutting them down and his knowledge of them again so he can grow up a normal guy and learn from his family to better be able to handle them when it's time.
