R.I.P. Sal Buscema

Sal Buscema has passed away. In my opinion he was one of the best 'old school' comicbook artists and his work on Spectacular Spider-Man was a stand-out. I decided to share the ending of #200 which is a classic.

This was my first issue of a Spider-Man comic. Maybe my first comic ever. What floored me was the ending. Just two pages of silence, ending with Peter in a parking lot, alone, mourning the death of his best friend. It felt so much more real than anything I'd ever seen on TV, and I think it's why I've always preferred the Spider-Man comics over all other media.

The man who drew one of my favorite comics is dead. I don't know what else to say.
