Guess becoming one of those outside of fate types (like Adam Warlock and his brother) really didn't agree with Eros. Hope he gets his head together, if just for the rest of the freaking universe. Those powers and maniacs are never a good thing.

When did he become outside of fate, or did Starlin give him that to dump on the poor guy more?

Well, it was Starlin but it was a bit more complicated than that. In Infinity Siblings/Conflict/Ending a future Thanos, that had become Death, started to force the current Thanos to ensure his future and prevent his defeat which eventually led to him becoming the One Above All. And because of the omniscience of such a position, and because he believes Eros to be instrumental in Thanos' defeat, Adam kills him to make him like himself and Thanos, who are kind of blind spots even to omniscient beings.

Yeah, I said it was complicated.

Let me guess, Eros then utterly faceplanted in trying to stop Thanos.

Well, yes and no. His plan(s) to stop Thanos didn't work, but they created the conditions needed for future Thanos' eventual failure to commit omnicide.

So are we done with trying to redeem Starfox and just making him a villain?

The process here seems like " OK, need a control creep - Purple Man's too serious, X-Editorial said no on Mesmero, and nobody respects Psycho-Man, so.. "

I wouldn't have expected someone called Purple Man to be one of the worst humans in the MU. Then again, I wouldn't have expected it of someone called the Mandrill either.

I still remember Starfox from his stint as an Avenger and I've been a little sad watching his continued fall from grace. The problem is his mind control/pleasure powers were just deemed too icky for public consumption and it's been all downhill from there.

The problem is that writers want to force him into what they seem him as, vs. the actual character that he is.

Frankly, in the 80s, he seemed to have a greater grasp of his powers and the issues involved than freakin' Professor X.

Interestingly, both are associated with music/sound in a way.

How can she not be familiar with Starfox when he was so prominent in Judg(e)ment Day, speaking to the entire world?

I mean, in Marvel time that must be at least a work week.

Here's a funny example of characters having amnesia:

In Marvel Knights Spider-Man Captain America says to Spider-Man that he should just give up his secret identity because it's more freeing that way.

Later on in Civil War when Spidey does just that Cap goes "Nice stunt you pulled there, how does it feel knowing Dr. Octopus has your home address now?" (or something along those lines).

On top of that both issues came from the same writer, Mark Millar.

I don't like it, when a writer crap on some hero (especially C-list or below) just to prop the hero they are writing.
