Torment there, helpfully showing that while you don't have to be Shocker to pull off those gauntlets, it really helps.

In fairness, it looks like Torment tried to touch them up to make them more his style.

...WHAT? Shocker's gauntlets don't work well on symbiotes. We saw this early when Eddie reclaimed the Venom role and the symbiote was pregnant with Sleeper. Eddie was willing to tank it. It's not going to nearly kill Carnage...or even cause much pain.

And why did Peter's spider sense go off? I can be generous and say it was because of Torment and the gauntlets...but the panel suggests he's reacting to Carnage's upcoming betrayal.
