Torment is, at this point, dead. We see his funeral. We don't have any other big reveals I.E. connections to Spider-Man or other Marvel characters. He met Carnage on an encrypted chat room. His motives also seem to be inconsistent with what we've seen before ("the quiet is all I desire") but maybe that's down to Joe Kelly writing the character instead of Soule.
There is a bit of a hook at the end where we see Torment's niece/little sister (it's unclear) also seeing spirals so who knows if that will be followed up on.
I appreciate that in the end, Torment was just completely off his rocker and not something more profound. I won’t miss him and I hope he doesn’t come back somehow (supernaturally revived and enhanced?) I hope the girl at the end actually uses her abilities wisely and beneficially if indeed she returns.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
