To hell with this "Leonard's not here" evil alter-ego bullshit for War of the Hulks. This right here... THIS is my Doc Samson. (Well, this and his own mini, which I'll dig up later.)
Oh yeah, he's gone crazy now hasn't he? Well that's just great. Has Loeb even given an explanation why? Please say it's not gamma radiation (Plus, how have I only noticed now what a badass name he has?)
1) I like this, seeing these two therapists beat the snot out of each other cracks me up.
2) I'm commenting with an open ID, how do I get a pass code so I can create a dreamwidth account as I would prefer not to shell out some cash for this?
IIRC, to date the Hulk is one of the few "gamma irradiation" characters whose strength increases with his rage/anger. The rest have superhuman strength but do not fluctuate with emotional levels.
The fact that "everybody has the rage" is something new, I believe - although apparently the Doc has stated his theory before that, "gamma mutation is largely determined by the subject's deepest sense of self". (source: wikipedia)
Ever since Doc Samson was shown to be involved with sending Bruce into space, I can't exactly say I feel sorry for him and how he now has a dark personality and not in full control thanks to MODOK.
So he now has a evil half of his psyche and is now declared as a wanted man for his attack on the President? Hey Samson, guess what? Bruce goes through the same thing as the Hulk. So why should any sympathy be shown to him?
Yeah, the second woman is Karla (as if you coulnd't tell from the kick in the nads..). This is directly prior to Secret Invasion, when most of the Dark Avengers were still the Thunderbolts.
Actually, it's because the two women in the two scans look really alike, that's why I got confused because the woman in the second scan's blaster's has the same look and design as Karla's but the woman in the first scan is using psychic powers which is something I never knew Karla could do and one of the tags has Karla Sofen on it.
Yeah, which is why I dislike both the "we all have rage" thing and the Geoff Johns attempt to retcon She-Hulk as transforming because of fear.
Bruce becomes the Hulk when he's angry because he repressed his rage. Jen becomes She-Hulk when she wants to have fun because she repressed her sensuality. And the Leader ... hmmm.
Heh. I know nothing about the Leader's pre-Gamma life, but maybe he was raised by oppressively incurious parents who forced him to repress his natural curiosity.
Which is why, when the Leader detonated a Gamma Bomb in a town he'd sealed into a force bubble, the very few survivors all got different powers; Hotshot, Jailbait, Ogress, Soul Man and Omnibus
The Leader's comes either from a feeling of self-importance (which would explain his similarities with Omnibus), and/or due to a desire to be smarter than his brother, Philip (Madman).
in the cartoon he was just a janitor as far as I remember. The problem with your theory on Jen is that at first she was like Bruce, and then when her current nature was out there she never became She-Hulk. She always was She-Hulk.
I can easily buy all of them having rage issues, though I think whatever causes the transformation is just whatever really spikes the adrenaline in the person changing.

Because you don't need to repress your "Let's have fun!" impulses nearly as much as you do your "Urge to kill ... rising!" impulses. If your strongest emotions are the desire to pound the shit out of people, you NEED to repress those, but if your strongest emotions are simply the desire to have a good time, a lot less repression is required. Bruce's urges made him anti-social, while Jen's made her hyper-social.
my only exposure to Doc Samson has been his therapy sessions in the most recent X-Factor series, and the scans in this community, so I don't know a lot about the character, but I have to say that I kinda stan for him now. Specially since it's ALL gamma-enchanced... :D
If the scans are to be believed, being a psychiatrist grants one psychic abilities. (We'll leave aside the issue of Sampson labeling himself one of the world's best, as most of his appearances in a professional capacity that I've seen would give grounds for ethics complaints to the ABPN and AMA.)

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.

Ah well, anything to make powersets more cookie cutter I suppose.

*shrugs* I dunno.
And we're supposed to feel sorry for Samson?
