Why? Why not, I say.

How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? His work's not really my style.
What's your stance on bees? I’m strongly in favor of bees being left alone to do bee things somewhere far away from me.

Other fandoms: I’m a pretty big Star Wars fan. Particularly of the post-ROTJ EU stuff. And I used to watch Supernatural obsessively, but they’ve kind of lost me this season. Ditto on Heroes and all Stargate varieties.
Fannish activities: I write fic, though I have yet to post much for DC. Working on remedying that in the near future. I’ve also been known to make icons on occasion.

Political Leaning: Very liberal.
Favourite Sports Team/Player: Any and every Boston team.
Favourite Performer: Disturbed, Muse, Loreena McKennitt, Nine Inch Nails, and Pink Floyd.
Favourite Writer (fiction/non fiction): Tolkien, Faulkner, Toni Morrison, Tim Pratt, and Neil Gaiman.
Someone You Admire: Barbara Gordon.

What else are you into? I enjoy writing fiction, social activism, playing video games, jumping on trampolines, splashing in muddy puddles, and reading.

How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? Always good for a chuckle, poor man.
What's your stance on bees? I'll bite them to death.

Other fandoms: I'm not faithful enough to be in fandoms, sorry. But I did recently get sucked into Katekyo Hitman Reborn! I can't help it, they had a character who boxes and is a little dumb. I'm a sucker for those guys!

Fannish activities: Erm, am one of the editors of [profile] monitor_duty. Did [community profile] crack_van twice. Occasionally will write (excruciating) bad fic for laughs, or because Question/Spirit slash fic needed to be done. Hush, you know it to be true.

Political Leaning: Damn dirty liberal, and proud of it. Pro-LGBT rights, pro-marriage equality, pro-choice, secular, atheist, and humanist, and sekrit Muslin. Basically, the enemy :D

I'm not sure if there's much point to this, but hell, everyone else is doing it, so...

Name: Deneb.

Blog/Journal/Site: None.

Other places we can find you: If you visit me at home, I'm usually there...

Location/Country of Origin: Northern California, USA.

Age: 26, as of Tuesday this week.

Occupation: Unemployed. I'm trying to break into the fields of comic book writing and/or voice acting - preferably both - but it ain't easy, and I'm lousy at representing myself. At the moment, I'd settled for a part-time job that would make me some moolah, but jobs are tough to find around here.

Favourite Writer: Assuming this refers to comics, probably Alan Moore. Also Neil Gaiman, Stan Lee, various other people...

Favourite Artist: Er... toughie. Art, for me, is not as important a component as writing when it comes to comics. A few people I whose artwork I LIKE would be Jack Cole, Alex Ross, David Lloyd, Bill Watterson, Carl Barks...

Favourite Character: Lots and lots of 'em. Changes according to my mood. Among my favorites at the moment are Batman, Spider-Man, Captain Britain, Night Raven, the Nocturnals, Tom Strong, the Question, Uncle Scrooge, and a host of others.

Desert Island Top Ten Comics (series/issues): Probably lots of Golden Age stuff. I'll have to go with series, I suppose. Batman, the Metal Men, the original Jack Cole run on Plastic Man, some of Marston's Wonder Woman, perhaps, the original Silver Age Doom Patrol, Captain Britain, perhaps V for Vendetta, some Tom Strong, the collected Bone, some volumes of Carl Barks.

All time favourite panel/page/scene (scans encouraged): Good grief, I don't know. I guess I'm partial to the 'One punch!' scene from JLI, but otherwise, I can't really think of anything.

How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? Not particularly enthusiastic. If the man took anatomy lessons and learned how to convincingly draw expressions other than a scowl, I'd like him a lot better.

What's your stance on bees? My preferred stance when it comes to bees is the classic 'poised to run away' stance as seen in Looney Tunes. I dislike small, stinging things. Still, at least they make honey - wasps don't even do that.

Other fandoms: I'm iffy on the precise definition of fandom. Other things that I am a fan OF would include Firefly, the Oz books, gargoyles (by which I mean actual gargoyles, not the show 'Gargoyles', although I like that, too), Darkwing Duck, Bloom County, sci-fi and fantasy in a general sense, British TV mysteries, Monty Python, the Goon Show (just starting to get into that, but I've enjoyed what I've read so far), tops, rubber bands, miscellaneous fiddly things, the backscratcher I got in Chinatown a few years back...

Fannish activities: None, really, unless you count posting here. I'm not exactly what you'd call an active fan - I plan on going to the San Diego Comic Con one of these days, but that's in the future. Maybe.

Political Leaning: Generally left-wing. Certainly not right-wing. Politics make me want to do an ostrich impression.

Favourite Sports Team/Player: Don't have one. I don't like sports; not team sports, anyway. I used to fence back in high school, but if there are any celebrity fencers, I haven't heard of them.

Favourite Performer: Aaarrrgh, I don't know. I like Johnny Depp, and Scarlet Johanssen's a cutie-pie.

Favourite Writer (fiction/non fiction): Plenty. L. Frank Baum, S.M Stirling, Harry Turtledove, Roald Dahl, Hugh Lofting, Neil Gaiman, Bruce Coville...

Someone You Admire: Barack Obama, Will Eisner. Assorted other people whose names escape me at the moment.

What else are you into? Stuff?

What's one awesome thing you did this year? This year? Not much. If I can fudge it to last year, I recorded an audio book of the Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling, and I've done a few readings trying to self-market it - still haven't broken even, though. If anyone's interested in a copy, all they have to do is ask...

Darkwing Duck! I have nothing fascinating to add, I just love seeing more Darkwing fans. I used to tape that show (yes, on VHS) when I was a kid and in the past few years, I've gotten a hold of the DVD box sets. Such a great show. So many good memories.

Well this took a lot of time to answer. I actually looked up the writers/artists from comics I had at hand or went searching online for the names of comics I remember, not to mention deciding on a favourite panel/scene. I’m sorry I couldn’t keep it short. I’m not very good at limiting myself.

Favourite Writers: Oh here we go: Classic Claremont, BKV, Gail Simone, Geoff Johns, Scott Lobdell, Mike Carey, JMS, PAD, Paul Jenkins, Jeff Parker, Fred Van Lente, Kurt Busiek, Paul Cornell, Ann Nocenti, Mark Waid, Warren Ellis, Dan Slott.
Favourite Artists: Jae Lee, John Byrne, Alex Maleev, Jim Lee, Jo Duffy, Jamie McKelvie, Bill Sienkiewicz, Joe Madeira (90s work), John Bolton, Dave Aja, Terry Dodson, Rafa Sandoval, Mitch Breitweiser, Moebius.
Favourite Characters: Beast, Dark Beast, Apocalypse, Dr Cecilia Reyes, Scarlet Witch, Ben Grimm, Susan Storm, Dr Doom, Scarecrow, Riddler, Phoenix, Rogue, Mystique, Leech and if one may choose any fictional character then Maxine grey from tv's Judging Amy as that is one kick ass lady.
Desert Island Top Ten Comics (series/issues): Aah, what to say?
-Claremonts X-men, especially the Dark Phoenix Saga.
-The Hobgoblin Saga (not sure it’s actually called that, but the original stuff by Roger Stern) in Spider-Man.
-The Classic X-Men back-up stories that are collected in X-Men Vignettes.
-The Typhoid Mary storyline by Ann Nocenti in DD.
-Secret Wars (it's epic goddamit).
-John Byrnes FF.
-Incredible Hercules.
-Marvel Adventures Avengers.
-Ex Machina.
-Neil Gaimans Murder Mystery.

How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? Disheartening work. He doesn’t seem to improve much either. Though I guess you could call it “a style”. Not my kind of style anyway (I don’t like it, and I don’t look like it).
What's your stance on bees? Are they Nazi bees? Well, they’re interesting, aren’t they? That complicated society, the royalty, all the chemicals and interpretive dancing. Still wouldn’t want to be close to them.

Other fandoms: Farscape, Dr. Who/Torchwood, Stargate Sg-1, Supernatural, and to a lesser degree Star Wars, Buffy/Angel and Star Trek.
Fannish activities: Trying to learn how to write fics/comics/whatnot in case that counts. Hanging out here, dress up as geeky things at costume parties or generally whenever’s possible, making icons, read the occasional fanfic, done a few AMVs for the X-men movies (some crap, but proud of SexyBack with Mystique cus it’s fun and pun-tastic).

Political Leaning: Left (cannot keep up with all the terms in English). Social Democracy with a smidge of Environmentalism. Voted Green Party, will do again. Taxes, public healthcare and feeless education, pro gay marriage (which we just got here, yay! Now it should be easy peasy to just find a future husband) and pro women’s choice in regards to abortion. What else? Pro stem cell research and pro research into finding different ways of using nuclear power that is less unsafe and harmful to the environment.
Favourite Sports Team/Player: Don’t do sports. Don’t watch it. Don’t get it. But in all honesty, playing basket ball and badminton can be fun with friends though.
Favourite Performer: In various areas of performance: Eddie Izzard, Erasure, the unstoppable duo of Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.
Favourite Writer (fiction/non fiction): Gosh. I seldom read actual books actually. …Don’t look at me like that! Started reading Gregory MaGuire’s Wicked and it’s pretty awesome so far. Terry Pratchett is good too. Kathy Griffins autobiography is hilarious and insightful.
Someone You Admire: Well Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Neil Patrick Harris and Emma Thompson all seem like successful, talented, bright, nice people with great personality and outlook on things. As for people I actually know, I guess my brother for his overwhelming confidence, my friend Emilie for her utter dedication to her studies, my mom for her out going-ness, and my dad for dealing with and succeeding in spite of dyslexia.

What else are you into? Drawing, dancing, SF, tv & movies, hanging out with friends. Hanging out is much better than actually doing stuff most of the time.

What's one awesome thing you did this year? Nothing springs to mind unfortunately. Been an ok year though.

Oooh! Ooh! Ooh! I'd like to add:

Favourite Artist: Same as the writing. Although some is just plain awful. I cba to check whom I really like atm.
Favourite Character: Gwen Stacy! If she is written right, I will love her. And I wish in the future that I could write her correctly too. Another character that is often written badly and that I love is Raven. Beast Boy, Blue Beetle, Impulse/Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, Wonder Woman, Superboy, Lana Lang, Spiderman, Chase, Molly, Karolina, Xavin, Victor, Powergirl, Terra III and that’s it

Political Leaning: I have no idea. All I know is that I have varying interest in either parties. I’m not that dedicated to any of them really.
Favourite Sports Team/Player: GO SAINTS! I’m a number one Saints fan since I’ve been in kindergarten, so it’s pretty obvious that they are my main team. :3 I’m mostly a football fan so I have to say my other favorites are The Colts, The NY Giants, and the NY Jets.
Favourite Performer: Varies. I have lots. I will say my favorite metal band is Opeth.
Favourite Writer (fiction/non fiction): Roald Dahl, Shel Silverstein, Louis Sachar, BKV
Someone You Admire:Don’t have one.

What else are you into? I love baking and cooking. I also don’t mind doing homely tasks. I like reading a whole lot and listening to music everyday. Exercising and dieting always get me interested and I love trying to do/reading different methods of each (that are safe).

What's one awesome thing you did this year? Bought a stationary bike!

Other places we can find you: I lurk on forums. I should really lurk less, post more. Sounds like a plan.
Location/Country of Origin: USA. Before that, China. Before that, USA, the Netherlands, and USA again. Hopefully China by summer 2011.
Age: 30 (as of yesterday)
Occupation: grad student!

Favourite Writer: Chris Claremont (yep!), Joss Whedon, Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth
Favourite Artist: Dave McKean, Yoshitaka Amano, John Cassaday
Favourite Character: Jean Grey! Kitty Pryde, Mina Harker, Wolverine (yeah, he's overexposed. I have affection for the character anyway)
Desert Island Top Ten Comics (series/issues): I'm going to cheat by lugging entire series onto the island. That will go over the 10 limit, but I'll keep it under 10 separate series. Deal?
1. Sandman
2. Uncanny X-Men (Claremont run)
3. The Maxx
4. Astonishing X-Men (Whedon run)
5. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
All time favourite panel/page/scene (scans encouraged): Nah. Way too many to do that. Something from Sandman, something from X-Men, lots from the Maxx.
How do you feel about Rob Liefeld? meh
What's your stance on bees? BEES! I love bees! I used to have bee patterned sleepy pants! BEEEES!

Other fandoms: I used to be really involved in the Harry Potter fandom. Ran a few online rpgs, wrote a bunch of stuff, participated in communities. That's dwindled to nothing. So now for the past few months, I've been getting BACK into comics.

Oh, but I also like Star Wars and Dracula and Venture Bros. (did a tabletop crack!roleplay for that once). I like Super Smash Bros. and old school!Zelda games. I'm an all around geek girl, I guess, but I'm not always actively involved WITH the fandom. I should remedy that.

Fannish activities: I write. I roleplay. I participate in forums and journals. I once ran an 8 session, fully costumed Sandman LARP. I'm currently running a casual, tabletop Star Wars game.

Political Leaning: Radical, would-be socialist. Feminist. Gay marriage is a civil rights issue.
Favourite Sports Team/Player: Geek girl + sport = meh. Least for me. Though I used to be a varsity swimmer back in my high school days, so I'll watch that during the summer Olympics.
Favourite Performer: Performing what? I like all kinds of music. I like a few actors here and there. I think I'll pick John Williams. I love his music and he conducts is well.
Favourite Writer (fiction/non fiction): Philippa Gregory, Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, L.A Meyer
Someone You Admire: Hillary Clinton. Goooo Hillary!

What else are you into? English literature and linguistics. World travel. Working and living overseas. X-Men cartoons. Sushi. Sushi. SUSHI.

What's one awesome thing you did this year? Rented a beach house in Cape Cod for a week. I'm totally spoiled on renting houses now. It's awesome. BBQ'd every night on our private porch, took lazy walks to the beach, didn't have to spend a ton of money eating out every night. Totally relaxing.

Ok guys, this is so late, but I didn't check all over Thanksgiving, and it moved without me noticing. PS -- how the heck do I set up a dreamwidth account without having some code or something??
