Picking up where we left off before the holiday, with Sisterhood of Steel #6.
The narrative style of the series so far had been to have around 2 or 3 subplots per issue. With issue 6, that changes as Marx realized she wasn't going to have very many more issues and set out to wrap things up before cancellation. So trimming pages from this issue was really, really hard, and there's a lot of plot to summarize.
Boronwë and Dindra find themselves heading out of Orange-Phyrus as part of an army (consisting of the Sisterhood and soldiers from Orange and Phyrus) on its way to lift the barbarian siege on the town of Prosper. A few pages of flashback follow, in which a great deal of important stuff happens that I had to cut:
1. Vandalis arrived, sneered at Boronwë, and antagonized commander Gill (who has been sent to Orange-Phyrus to renew the treaties) demanding that they declare war on the Giaourans - which would be sure to disrupt Gill's negotiations with the erratic prince O'mah.
2. Vandalis then met with Glespa and ordered her to take Boronwë along on the expedition to prosper: "Take her with you and keep you close by. Push her! She's bound to make a mistake in battle. I'm sure of this girl's treasonous feelings for the Sisterhood! Prove it for me! You'll be doing me a great service, one I won't forget."
3. As a result of Vandalis's demands, Boronwë and Dindra find themselves ordered to ride with the officers, just behind Glespa at the head of the army.
Meanwhile, things are getting desperate at Prosper. Kelki helps man the town walls, but they've run out of oil to boil and pour on the enemy's heads, and it's only a matter of time before the barbarians overrun the city. The camps for the night just a couple hours march from Prosper. Boronwë and her sisters discuss the prospect of death in battle, while Glespa learns that another force of Sisters from the town beyond Propser will also reach the besieged town tomorrow morning; they will be able to surround the enemy, and she plans her assault accordingly.
At the break of dawn, the barbarians break through the gates of Prosper; Kelki and Neesa, along with the remaining defenders, guard a house full of noncombatants. Glespa sees that the town has fallen, and launches her attack:

The barbarians are defeated, and Kelki and her husband, Vosse, flee the city. They are followed by the nasty little ex-slave, who sees where go into hiding on the coast, and rides back to the city to tell the sisterhood about Kelki.

I am very sorry, but I had to cut the page where Boronwë and Kelki are reunited and tearfully embrace. Boronwë: "Oh Kelki, Kelki, what are we going to do?" Kelki: "You're alive! Praise be the goddess!"

Boronwë and Vosse stage their fight, and Boronwë drives him over the edge into the water just as Glespa gets close.

On the final page of the issue, which sadly I also had to cut, Boronwë fires, but misses, and Glespa immediately places her under arrest for treason: "To Be Continued!"

Christy Marx has a website page devoted to Sisterhood of Steel; she has (I assume signed) copies of all issues available for sale, as well as posters and prints.
