Did Mera really think she stood a chance, zombie or no zombie? I haven't seen her spend enough time lately in the gym to even think she stood a chance. At best her pretty face acts like a shield for the oncoming Wonder Woman butt kick.

Still can't wait for this though.... :)

Whoa! That's a lot of blood related injuries in such a small space. The nose, the blood on the hands, the neck gushing like a glassier.

A few comments; Your link to the preview leads through to a forum discussion about Thor and ethnicity, did you mean that?

Isn't being a hero still fighting the bad guys when you know you don't stand a reasonable chance of winning?

Aside from the standard Atlantean super-strength on dry land, Mera has some fairly powerful powers of her own, the ability to manipulate water and render it as solid as rock. Considering she's standing next to a large body of water, I'd expect more of a creative fight from her.

Water bending can only be so useful in a fight with the dead. Not to mention she'd need a second to do so. Zombie Diana's probably not giving her that chance.

Well, she isn't actually Atlantean, but the fact that she can survive at those pressures like they do means that she is at least as tough as one.

Anyway, that's something that usually gets forgotten: Mera's actually more powerful than Aquaman. If the spotlight being shone on her holds, I'd like to see that factoid cemented.

Thanks. I wasn't sure what her current origin was, since she was originally from Dimension Aqua but thought that might have got retconned thanks to Crisis.

Blackest Night: Wonder Woman is kinda all over the place. First she follows the standard tie-in formula of fighting zombie trolls. Now she *is* a zombie troll (with an awesome evil costume switch). And next she's a sparkling space-stripper.

I think that's exactly why it's a three-part. Wonder Woman in each stage.

It gives the sense though, that she's just a puppet of the event, rather than an active participant herself.

Looking at the preview, it's interesting, because it makes use of the opportunity to let us see what this possession feels like from the inside.

I don't think she's seen Wonder Woman fight much, maybe hoping she was a standard brick or the trident would help even things. Diana is kinda handing her casually one-handed there, isn't she?

Theoretically, Mera is strong enough to challenge Diana, much as Diana is strong enough to challenge Clark. However, the difference in skill level means that she'd lose, especially if she isn't able to utilize her full range of powers. I have no problem with the outcome as shown.

I don't think that works in theory really.

Aquaman and other Atlantenas or whatever we consider Mera (since she's not exactly an Atlantean) are more on par with say Starfire in strength. Which compared to Diana isn't much.

Arthur is quite a bit stronger than the average Atlantean.

Is she? Diana's like, a hair or so beneath Clark. They both can push the moon around and that kind of stuff, and she's the second strongest in the league.

I didn't think Mera was near that level.

I get the feeling with Mera she may not think about that too much before acting. She has always been prone to rage even under the best circumstances, and I can imagine all this would be making her more, not less, impulsive.

Yea, that's what I got from it too. She started doing a *bit* better when she used water... but the only reason it was a fight was the ring toying with her and Diana trying to hold it back.

I'm getting sick of confusing this Wonder Woman with the Wonder Woman that is currently running around in a Star Sapphire costume.

It must be admitted though that her Sapphire costume is somewhat more tasteful than most of the others.

Yea. If you compare it to her WW costume, it's not as good. If you compare it to Sapphire costumes? It's a step up.
