Four scans from Blackest Night: Wonder Woman #2.
So now Diana has herself a black ring, and fights Mera. Mera gets in a few good hits, but Diana's about to gut her:

Diana flies off and tries to remove the black ring to kill herself, but can't. Instead, she goes on a rampage around Themyscira, killing Cassie, BL-Donna, and Hippolyta, and then makes out with Batman. This increasingly odd turn of events is revealed to be:

That double-spread was damn hard to work with, because my scanner's not quite large enough, so I had to figure out how to stitch images together using ArcSoft Photostudio.
Nice scene, and I love seeing Aphrodite's Drew Johnson design again (the 'Diana Prince' thing is still annoying, but I suppose if that's how it's going to happen in the main title continuity should be observed).

Date: 2010-01-06 08:47 pm (UTC)I went into this series with high expectations. And I am lowering them with each issue. Not that I didn't enjoy this but I am not as in love with it as I thought I would be. Rucka and WW together should have me ridiculously head over heels but it's not. And the liplock with Batman? Why? The push Mera is getting is out of hand. We get that she's a bad ass, but she is never ever going to be a challenge for Wonder Woman. Never. Hear me Johns? NEVER.
Also I was surprised to see that Nicola had help with pencils. The switch between Pansica and her is jarring. I thought she came off of Secret Six to do this?

And the Love thing just gets worse, because it's all about Aphrodite, which feels like further evidence of Johns' pre-Crisis fetish.
In summary, :( :( :(

Date: 2010-01-06 11:12 pm (UTC)Beyond that, bringing up her being Aphrodite's champion as well is appropriate (Perez gave her a "loving heart", after all); she had several patrons, not just one (one of my problems with the recent Simone story was how none of the rest of them seemed to even exist).

Date: 2010-01-07 12:17 am (UTC)Given what we see of the Post-Crisis Amazons a few of Diana's patrons should be feeling a little short changed.
Unfortunately I got to my comic shop late and it was sold out.
Don't supposed anyone knows any places for downloads?
