Black Susan vs. the Stranger from Beyond
Jan. 14th, 2010 09:54 pmTwo pages from Fantastic Four: Dark Reign

Susan Storm vs. The beyonder?
Like you don;t need to be told how that turns out.
Though this may not surprise you, I really liked some of what Dark Reign did. The designs on the Alternate Fantastic Four and their universes were really cool, plus the Bridge plot that led to the Council (which I adore).
Tag me with Fantastic Four, Sean Chen and Jonathan Hickman on creative duties

Date: 2010-01-14 11:43 pm (UTC)Read the final arc of Mark Waid's Fantastic Four. Ben recognises that Reed is very important to the world. It's about time that Reed started acting like it and get the job done.

Date: 2010-01-15 02:02 am (UTC)Thing is he's smug, and he shouldn't be given the number of times he's gambled on being smart enough to pull off a Xanatos Gambit.
Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me Reed is the best guy in the world to have in your corner when things are looking down. If you're in a jam Reed WILL figure out a way to save the day... But when Reed tries to be proactive, when he tries to create a master plan, when he tries to get out ahead of things, when he tries to predict people's moves ahead of time, it blows up in his face.
The entire history of the Fantastic Four seems to hold this as a moral. Reed is a hero, he responds to problems and invents solutions. Victor is a villian, who tries to instigate change on his own terms. When Reed tries to instigate change it tends to blow up in his face until his family (being the best family in comics) bring him back to his senses.
