I thought I'd share some Batman and Robin animation I had somehow never seen before.

Note the subtle and effective use of lip synching, the devotion to an almost photorealistic style of animation that surely is years ahead of it's time...

Also note the clever way that entire scenes are reworked

And for legality, and because we're in a Batman and toy frame of mind, a cover which has a toy pack I would trample over nuns to get!(Gotham Adventures #3 art by Ty Templeton)

Robin approves of his new babysitter, but wait until he tries staying up past his bedtime. (Gotham Adventures #52 art by Bob Smith and Terry Beatty)

And since Tim is clearly a growing boy he had to borrow one of Dick's old pairs of leggings (DCAU Tim never wore green leggings, but from the looks of this, he should have done) (Gotham Adventures #57 art by Bob Smith and Terry Beatty)

Oh, and since I'm going to be away this weekend at a family function (a new niece being Christened) a nice little image of optimism and hope for the future, with a slightly different take on Calvin and Hobbes which I find rather sweet (artist unknown)

I still say that this should have been the theme of Toy Story 2. We'd have found out that the reason Andy had a pristine and very old Woody toy was that he had belonged to Andy's (now deceased) Dad. And when the toy restorer discovered Andy's name on Woody, he'd have found an older name underneath, and uncovering the older name would restore Woody's memories of his first owner (A toy is loyal to their owner, but forgets about them when they have a new name added on top)

Yeah, but they're doing the thing Don Bluth likes doing with the mouths. Always wide open when they speak. Ugh.

It looks like Calvin married Susie Derkins after all.

Was there ever any doubt? Unless you're one of those people who ship Calvin/Moe.

In pretty much all the things I've seen, Calvin always ends up with a daughter, and the daughter almost *always* has inherited Susie's looks.

Love the Catwoman one. And the little smile Robin always give at the end, hoping for Batman's approval.

The best is Very Dramatic Speechifying Batman.

There is and isn't Brave and the Bold on tonight-- they're showing an episode, but it's a repeat of "Return of the Reach!".

Has any explanation for CN's decision been forthcoming?

According to some forums I've read, it states that they don't want the new episodes to compete with the Olympics.

Heh. Trippy cartoon.

LOLing at the woman on the second vid. She's making googly eyes at Robin! Not that I blame her, of course.

And Riddler poking at the Zeller logo is teh cute!

Man, those Zellers commercials are such tasty crack! I love the exaggeration they give for speechifying Batman, it's fun as hell.

...a slightly different take on Calvin and Hobbes which I find rather sweet...

Am I the only one who finds it...odd...that there are a number of comics they show what Calvin would be like if he outgrew Hobbes? If people are so interested in casting off the shackles of childhood, why do they keep sourcing a comic that stop being published fifteen years ago?

Am I the only one who is less touched by Calvin passing Hobbes on to his child than disturbed by the idea of him having to grow up in the first place?

Nice commercials. The animation also suggests Aeon Flux to me...

How cool is that Gotham Adventures #3 cover. Complete with choking hazard warning.

I adore those Calvin and Hobbes posters. Two more for your enjoyment, both in a similar theme (in fact, the second one is a nice bridge to the first one, and yours)...
