Booster Gold #29 features the last Blue Beetle back-up. This arc felt very rushed, but Matthew Sturges managed to tell this last story within a couple issues.

Basically Khaji Da/Scarab has been acting much more violently since the end of the series when he was reset. Jaime feels drawn back to the pyramid where the scarab was originally found, and the original Reach programing takes over. Thankfully, he brought friends and Peacemaker also pops up, drawn back as well by his own relationship to the scarab.

Explosions happen, then everyone goes home, and we have one last page of cuddly meta fun:

Honestly, I didn't exactly understand the point of this arc.

And didn't a series by He Who May Not Be Posted do the same meta-commentary about being canceled?

No offense to Messrs Sturges & Pfeifer, but BB #25 was a much stronger ending to the storylines. And we all know Milagro is going to be the next Ion. :D

agreed, but just because Endgame was such a great story doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the issues that followed.

ideally I would have preferred to see the adventures of Jaime and his superawesome family continue so we could have seen more stories as good or better than Endgame.

Jamie is all right but Milagro is one of the best new DC characters ever. She's so young, self-aware, smart and happy. I guess that means she'll either be hyper-aged, turn into a villain, made dark and grim or killed. When it comes to "nice" characters in the Didio Age, I'm pessimistic.

I wasn't really a fan of the story. A few to many asspulls and lack of explanation. But I guess the ending was okay. I just hope we get another Blue Beetle book one of these days.
