A superhero taking statistical significance into account in his search instead of his guts? Why, I think I should start reading this...

I think you should start reading this because Kitcat is adorable.

She's a bit out of nowhere though, has Oracle ever had a Nerd Herd before?

Sure she does.

It's called the Internet.

No, that's her "realm", we've never AFAIK seen her delegate tech tasks as she's too much of a control freak. She looks after all her own hardware and installs her own upgrades, with an occasional spare pair of hands provided by the Batclan or the Birds.

There was that group of hackers she used for a while (the Cadre, I think?). And she has a good rep in the community.

True, but the hackers are just that, hackers, people she confers with, but doesn't trust with missions like this.

And her reputation is very good, she's just never used it this way in all the years prior to this. Don't get me wrong it's a great idea, but it's coming across as a little... sudden.

Unless it's someone we already know, in disguise...

(Actually, she reminds me a lot of Aleph, from GLOBAL FREQUENCY)

Yes, she has, at least once - in an early story I've been meaning to post for a while.

And, from what I read here at scans_daily, Ted Kord and Barbara totally "cyber-did it"

I don't know if they could support their own titles, but the Web and the Shield, at least seem to me keepers among the Red Circle characters DC has been pushing and I wouldn't mind seeing them pop up in other titles.

I kinda like the idea of Oracle trying to hammer The Web into not a failure. I mean he's obviously too egotistical to quit (even after the first six issues were a textbook example of how to fail at superheroing) so if he's gonna keep going, why not put people in place to try and mold him into something useful? I wouldn't be surprised to see various Birds pop up from time to time in the series to smack him back on track when he starts having terrible ideas of his own again.

You don't think this would piss him off just a tad? 'I don't NEED a babysitter, let alone three or four of them on a rotating basis!'

While I can't comment on precise details, since most of this was grayed out by my GD computer, I DO like the fact that they're not handwaving away the fact that he really did kill this woman, and that there are legal consequences for that that he has to face. It makes him see more like a real guy with real problems who just happens to live in a fantastical universe like the DCU.
