Eh, so? In the majority of circumstances, Diana can take down Bruce with ease.

Exactly. Diana's the same as Superman in that sense. Batman has a plan, sure, but absolutely EVERYTHING has to go right if he's going to win. One mistake, and Clark/Diana takes him out.

That's something that doesn't get enough attention from Batfans.

Imo, something goes wrong, he finds another way to win, because he's BATMAN.

Just try to keep in mind, one of the fundamental aspects of Batman is 'the victory is in the preparation.' And when he's dealing with beings that could reduce him into a thin red smear without any appreciable effort, he needs a fuckton of preparation... Which he's taken care of, because he's Batman.

But when he's outclassed by this much power, most of Batman's fight is wearing the other side down enough that he can handle them himself- and the margin for error is pretty well nonexistent. It's a testament to the awesomeness of Batman how rarely that happens, but even he can be surprised (hence the Joker's continued threat)- and mechanical failures are a fact of life.

Any part of the plan goes wrong, and instead of dealing with a battered messed-up hero that's ready for the knockout, he's dealing with a pissed-off hero with plenty of fight left... who happens to be almost infinitely faster than he is and could blow his heart out through his spine with a well-placed breath.

But again, that practically never happens... because he's BATMAN.
