Yes. To the point that in a few issues his series is being renamed Frankencastle and it is awesome.

A gun wielding Frankenstein monster teaming up the with Legion of Monsters to fight nazi zombies and hi-tech samurai lead by a head in a jar on a steam powered mecha body over the bloodstone. I think I have a decent grasp on the word.

Good Punisher, which hasn't been seen outside of the MAX imprint in years. If the regular 616 series had been any good before this I might have issue with but it really wasn't so I welcome the change.

You know, since this is still being going on it's got me thinking. What exactly makes him "Franken", besides the stitched look? Frankenstein was made up from the body parts of several people, being a new creature rather than any single person brought back to life. Frank's just Frank, with some cybernetics thrown in. He's more like Six Million Dollar Frank to my mind than FrankenCastle.

If you're going to get technical about that then what most people consider Frankenstein's monster to be from the Hammer horror films isn't really Frankenstein's monster since he has next not nothing in common with Adam the monster from the original novel.

Interesting you use Hammer, since the most popular iconic image of the monster is from Universal studios.

I guess what makes him FrankenCastle rather than Six Million Dollar Frank is that Frank actually was dead, not just badly injured. Generally, having your head sliced off is an owie most people don't bounce back from.

Well, he's not exactly either but to me he has far less similarities with the monster. Maybe Cold Lazarus would be closer, but then again he does have a body.

Frankenstein was the med student who made the monster. He wasn't the monster. The monster, if he has a name, is Adam.

Well, to be fair, Frankenstein was, in a way, Adam's "father". It's not a stretch to say that Adam inherited his last name.

I like Frankencastle...he brought the Legion of Monsters back to comics and for that he gets a pass on questionable origins and so far his story has been pretty cool.

I'm waiting for Daken to stab Sentry with the Muramasa-sheathed claw, killing him, but as Sentry dies he dissolves Daken's molecules forever.

Oh, and this happens off somewhere where it doesn't bother anyone else but these two.

Not to say I dislike Daken, I love him as he's a great asshole and antagonist. As such, every time he gets real comeuppance I squeal with joy.
