As Kurt recovers from his abrupt exit from the skyship planet, his new friend chats with him for a bit.



...Makes sense.

The Bamf takes him to Bamff, the Bamf village.



Kurt begins to settle in and ask for help, when SUDDENLY!





Shagreen kidnaps all the Bamfs except for the one Kurt originally befriended!



The Bamf agrees to help Kurt track down Shagreen to get the girl bamfs back. He takes him to a beach where he plays a loud horn to summon help. The ground rumbles...



...who was not the being the Bamf meant to summon. When Lockheed the (big) Dragon finally arrives, there are some cute callbacks to the original fairytale story this world is based on that I wish I had room to post.



Lockheed doesn't feel like dealing with Lockheed's sass, and quickly reminds him of the size difference between the two. Then Lockheed the (big) Dragon agrees to ferry the crew to see Kitty the Pirate. They catch up with her ship:



Kitty and Peter join the adventure, and all ride Lockheed the (big) Dragon to the Fangs of Doom Mountains.

On the way:



The crew swims ashore while Lockheed tries to fight off the monster. The adventurers start to go back to help, but then:



(oh, well, those don't seem that ba-)



GODSWEETMOTHERDAMN THEY HAVE LASERS WHY

Kitty is grabbed by one of the Dreadwings, which then thankfully retreat back into my nightmares.



Meanwhile:



They quickly send the Bamf back. Illyana notes that he called himself a Bamf, like in the story Kitty once told her. Kitty tells her not to be ridiculous, it was just a story, and the two go back to trying to figure out how to bring Kurt and Lockheed back.

Back at the fortress, the adventurers work their way through several traps and puzzles, when Shagreen decides as all bosses must eventually that he will need to deal with those meddling adventurers himself.





The Bamf runs off, and Kurt is quickly captured by the Dark Bamf.

He awakens:

I'd love for there to be one! But I think Marvel's legal/financial issues with the Cockrum estate might preclude it.

You know, I had originally thought that this series of posts would kinda-sorta satisfy my need to hunt down this mini, but no - quite the opposite. I must find it! I must own every single issue, and I will love it and hug it and call it george...
Incidentally, does anyone else think that the basic framework of this would make a great TV show? Kurt and Lockheed popping through the dimensions, evil sorcerer on their tail, kickin' ass and takin' names, and meeting many beautiful senoritas in the process - and dragons. And pirates. C'mon, am I the only one who thinks it would be great?

Sliders wasn't any good? I never saw any of it, but I always thought it sounded kind of interesting.
