So, that one was originally written in 2007, so we're getting close to Ninja Turtles territory here. 'Course, I tend to think of Batman as being in his 40s, given that Dick is probably about 30 now. But IIRC, in Batman: RIP, Morrison had Jezebel Jet say something indicating that Bruce was in his early/mid thirties, so hell if I know.

As somebody once mentioned before here, the DC timeline puts Bruce at around his 50s, Dick at his 30s, Tim at his early 20s, and Selina around 40.

I usually put him around late 30s-early 40s.

And I think the timeline's not official. In all probability it was made by some fan with a calculator and too much time in his hands. Not that the effort isn't appreciated, of course.

I dunno about that. They should be those ages, but the timeline itself tends to be pretty nebulous. For the longest time, it was just "Batman debuted ten years ago", but the timeline's moved up a few years since, meaning he would've debuted maybe...fifteen years ago? Late-30s is a safe bet.

then you gotta get into relative ages and the headache those bring in
New Teen Titans was already going when Lian was born, for instance, which means Dick was already 19 or 20, so the timeline's roughly equals:
years before robin joined batman + (20 - age dick was when he became robin) + lian's current age

It rarely works out that way, though.

DC have never said that Dick was in his 30's. 26 was the oldest they've said.

Really I thought Bruce was 33 tops, Dick around 25, and so on downwards. Add in some crisis and time wraping and questions answer themselves.

part of the problem is they seem to delay the beginning of his training for so long. I see no reason why Bruce needs to be in his mid-20's before he becomes Batman.

But the cape is yellow on the outside. I thought it might be Tim, though, considering the colour and his gloves being darker, but then I convinced myself they were a very dark green.

I thought I read somewhere that Bruce was Permanently Thirty-Seven, just like James Bond.

That way at least Dick can be in his late twenties, assuming he was in his early teens and Bruce his early twenties when they met.

Possibly. Wasn't there something once where Bruce is talking to (or dreaming/imagining that he's talking to) Dick's parents and they're all pissed at Bruce for bringing Dick into the crimefighting world?

I always thought Bruce as being mid to late thirties, Dick being 25, Jason and Cass around 18-20 range, and Tim being 16 or 17.

Diana you can't tell her age really since she's eternally youthful, Hal and Ollie are on their 40's but have come back younger thanks to resurrections, Clark for me seems like an early 30's kind of guy although judging by his birthday and Bruce's he seems to be a year younger than Bruce.

I don't have a problem at all with Bruce being less than ten years older then Dick, but Tim's retconned-in backstory is the thing that throws everything out-of-whack, for me. Given that most origin stories still relentlessly cast early Dick!Robin at somewhere between eight and ten, Tim would need to be no less than five or six years younger than Dick to remember seeing him perform at that age. But if he's only five or six years younger than Dick, then Dick still would have been Robin right around the time Tim turned thirteen and was supposedly picking it up, and then where the hell does Jason even fit in, and... and... my head hurts.

But I think Bruce can easily be fudged to pushing forty, which makes it fine for Babs to be thirty or so, and Dick twenty-six. Everyone I try really, really hard not to think about.
