Retro Gaming Animation With Maliki

I've posted about Maliki before, one of my favourite webcomics. Well, the creator of the strip is an animator for Ankama, who do the fantastic Wakfu TV series in France. So what to do when you're an animator with a good story and a fantastic cast of characters? Why, you animate it, of course!



Honestly, you don't really need to know much about the strip to get the jokes here. Basically, the cats belong to Maliki, Fang lives in her apartment, and Jonn regularly beats her at video games. Oh, and the chick on the moon is Savage Ladybird, but you don't really need to know about her for this one.

Yeah, using the embed function embeds the ENTIRE SITE, not just the video.

The worst thing my cat did to me was using the back of my legs as a scratching post... she still did it after we had he de-clawed, only with her teeth!

I have a very fat cat who sometimes leaves butt-prints on the rug after he uses the litter box. Not fun to clean up after him.

Maliki has an English site? I found some fan translations on a forum but that's it. Please share!

I sometimes clean off my cat's dried eye crud. She isn't very happy about it.

The link up at the top should be to the English site, although there's a link on the top left of the French site anyway now.

One of our cats got her eye damaged by one of the others a few years back, and it gives her trouble sometimes. She can see fine and all, but it gets irritated pretty easily.

Ahahaha, this comic. Every time a new one about the cats pops up, I send it to my ex-housemate, 'cause these two were so her cats.

The animation is fabulous too. I'd so watch that in telly if it'd get syndicated outside France.

This animation is amazing. Is this just a one shot or is it supposed to become a series?

At this point, I'm really not sure. She says it's the first webisode ever, but doesn't say if there'll be more.

Seriously, I think they could make a go of this as a real series.
