Hmmm interesting, using the Keres from Greek Mythology, though it slightly seems like he is borrowing from his use of the Disir from his Thor run, i always like when obscure, or little used mythological figures get used in a comic/series that draws heavily on mythology.

Wondy seems surprised to see them; I thought that she was the DC's go to guy for mythological stuff (like Thor or Hercules in he MU) or was that changed in the recent retcon?

this stuff is still new to her in this pseudo re-boot.

she has probably (personally) never seen death before, or if she has, has probably never stayed at the aftermath of a blood bath for long before. or these creatures only come at certain battle fields.... or she knows OF them, and has never seen one. im sure there is an explaination.

Popular theory right now is that either this takes place in the past, or they've de-aged her--this is definitely a coming of age/hero's journey that she's going through right now. All she knows about at this moment is that her people were Amazons who were somehow invaded by Man and now are forced in hiding.

What's to understand? I'm just a comic book reader with an opinion and I like her better without the jacket. The color theme is also more epic without the blue. Red/Gold/Black just looked right.

It's not so much hate (with me, at least) as it is being tired of this as a superheroine accessory. Dinah, various X-Women, Diana previously, Cassie during her early black-wig phase, etc. It would be one thing if it were functional as armor, but if the cover is any indication she seems to have lost it as quickly as Clark went through capes during the Byrne years. It's kind of like a thigh-pouch thing.

I know what you mean, and I'm referring to the latter, what I've called "utility garters" in the past; I've always wondered what they could be carrying in those itty-bitty pouches--postage stamps? Arcade tokens? Emergency stashes of Miraclo?--and whether they wouldn't chafe on the inside. But the outside tie-down pouch is fine; it's essentially the same as having really form-fitting cargo pants.

Something about the "naivete" / angle to her tells me when one of the other members of "the Trinity" show up, we won't get the same restrained Diana.

I've been wondering how this WW story works with the rest of the universe. Do people remember her and wonder where she went or did the timeline change make them forget her. Is she in the same timeline where there are other heroes but she's just 'underground' or do the other heroes not exist in this timeline? Ack idek, it isn't made very clear. XD

its nto a dream, its an altered time line. but its the same effect. the whole point of this *reboot* is for Diana to either put things back they way it used to/supposed to be. or avenge it. i think she's going to go back to the more iconic version of herself by the end of the arc, or at least be on her way there.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really do like Wondy's new costume. It looks so much more practical than her American flag bathing suit costume. If nothing else, at least she won't have to put up with random wedgies every issue.
