Thor - God of Thunder Overload

First the God of War, now the God of Thunder, the Odinson, Thor. With Marvel in full swing of Mjolnir, Thor is making his presence felt in the media.

The Good
---------
the full Thor movie trailer, released this past weekend.

It's missing that sense of wonder ... of "marvel", that you have with the good Marvel movies.


The Bad
---------

Get the guys who did the voice in the cartoons. You can tell the real life actor who is playing Thor, and the other characters, are phoning it in. Game design would look good if this was 4-5 years ago, but compared to everything else out in the market, this game is practically forgettable.

The Ugly

I look at the comic, see what the talent behind this project is trying to do, I see the history and and I feel the influences in the art and can only come up with one word to describe the entire preview: wretched.

Oh, and I quite like the movie trailer, it manages to convey something akin to Kirby-esque scale to Asgard, which is no mean feat.

I love the Thor Movie trailer and I'm glad that we have a little one screen theater that never plays 3D movies.

Our l'il 5 screen only recently got one of their screens converted to 3D ... I'm really hoping that the version we get of this movie is 2D!

I honestly don't know what to think of the trailer; some bits I like, and others, meh ...

I work at a movie theater and trust me, go for the 2D version.

9 out of the 10 3D movies we've gotten in the last year did not need to be in 3D.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Thor movie. The FX and acting look good. Destroyer Armor? Yes!

Two problems though:

3D? I hate this pointless trend!

Does it fucking have to be in 3D?!!! Come. On! I hate this 3D shit. Plus I wear glasses, it's not exactly easy or comfortable putting those damn things on over the ones I already got. >_

You know, as more of a D.C. person than a Marvel person, I hardly knew anything about or was interested in Thor except for the bits of "Thor: Mighty Avenger" I've seen here.

But now, seeing the trailer, I'm excited! It seems like the perfect blend of fantasy and sci-fi, of both I am a huge fan, into an almost modern steampunk (cyberpunk?) blend I can really get behind.

Leave the angst and drama to D.C. superhero movies, I'll be watching action movies made by Marvel.

The scene with Thor, Sif, Loki and the W3 has a very Marauders (Harry Potter) feel to it.

The trailer shows too much for my liking, and the actor playing Thor doesn't seem to ahve much gravitas (him saying "this is earth isn't it" was more surfer with a hangover than outcast God).

Not gripped I'm sad to say.

It's all bad to me. Bad art comic book, unimpressive video game, and fake looking everything in the movie.

For gods' sakes, the video game hammer looked more real than the movie hammer.

The city did look nice...but the floors are too shiny. And since when does Odin whine about war? These are freaking viking gods!
