Four-ish pages from The Walking Dead 81




Alright so last time, we saw they were trapped in the town with Walkers all around, and Andrea was stuck in the Tower where she was for sniping. And we start with Rick and Jessie who we saw kiss last time, and they sleep together. Than Glenn and Maggie, and Glenn is talking about how much he's worried about Andrea, and Maggie is all like you're going to do something tomorrow aren't you. And then we see Morgan and Michonne who had just slept together and Michonne tells off Morgan for acting like he's the only person who has ever lost anyone.

And then we Abraham and Rick are talking and we see how the wall that has been put up around the town isn't sturdy because the beams are just planted in the ground without cement around it. And the walkers are pushing it in and breaking it. So they put the truck up against the wall. here we go.






So they tie the rope across the buildings and Glenn and Heath get across, and when Spencer is crossing the rope snaps.







So, while this is happening, the walkers manage to push the wall in through the truck and Holly who is watching the wall runs to get Rick and Rick tells her to go get everyone else too, Morgan is the first to show up.





Aaand Rick is all "No, you can't give up! Morgan! Damn it!" And then it ends.

Well, fuck.

Though, really, it was hard for Morgan's tale to end in any way other than through tragedy. Guy was seriously screwed up. :(

It's true, I liked Morgan though. I actually cheered when they found him and he was alive. And I'm like "well maybe they'll just cut his arm off and stop it from spreading" but that didn't work the last time, and they aren't really in the position to do that with still being attacked and all so, it's sad.

Well, yes. But the moment we saw his little kid chained up and zombified, my only thought was, "...Welp. Dude's either gonna be a psychopath or seriously damaged goods." The poor guy, though... especially so for hooking up with Michonne, who is arguably even more fucked up than he is.

I did think that and while I was happy he was back I was always anticipating that he was going to try to do something horrible like kidnap Carl or something like that, though Carl would have been like wtf and shot him or something. I feel bad for Michonne though, because she admitted in this issue that she did love Tyreese, and now both the guys she had feelings for (if she did for Morgan she didn't know him that long really but she didn't know Tyreese that long either) have been killed. Sad.

ok wait... why doesn't cutting off limbs work anymore?

Well I don't know I think it would, I mean the last time they did it they didn't do it right so Allen died. But they're in the middle of an attack so I don't think they'll have time.

I think you're forgetting that they've done the amputation thing twice now. The last time they did it, they saved Dale and let him live a LOT longer than he would have otherwise done in the series. (Of course, then he had to go get bitten and then partially cannibalized, but at least he got a heroic send-off.)

But you are right that it'd probably wouldn't work if they didn't have a skilled surgeon who had time to amputate his arm immediately. As was the case with Dale. Right after delivering Lori's baby, in fact...

Oh yeah. I was remembering him being bitten, then partially cannibalized, and then they did the amputation thing, but you're right *nods* I was remembering it wrong.

They have that doctor in the town, so they do have a medical professional, I don't know if she'd be a skilled surgeon or what, but I just don't think they're going to time, unless someone is right near them, and can take Morgan to her (I forget her name), and leave Rick to fight off the Walkers by himself.

Sad but Jake, it's TWD-town.

Everyone is going to die except Carl, calling it.

This, actually. I don't know if it'll happen in this arc, but I'm sure a lot of people are going to die but. But I wrote a whole thing about how I think eventually, once Rick is dead, we're going to follow Carl around. Which I'd be totally cool with, the kid's a bad ass. I love him.

I think it would be the best way to go. The old world has to fade away. The adults will never truly accept the world and how it's changed. But Carl is young enough, he'll forget the way things were.

I think the last arc will be Carl forging ahead in a new world. As an example of the kids that will survive, who won't re-create the world but build a new one.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was hinting that it would eventually happen when Rick was unconsciousness and we saw things from Carl's point of view. And anyway it's apparent that Rick is losing it, and as scary as Carl can be, he's actually way more stable then his dad at this point.

And hopefully Sophia was still be alive and go with him :D (though probably not...)
